An acoustic music and DJ wedding package brings live performance into the earlier parts of your day, with a DJ for the reception. You can have a singer perform your aisle song, relaxed live music while guests enjoy drinks, and a different pace when it is time to dance.
At Charter Music, we help couples plan that combination across Byron Bay and the Gold Coast. The right package depends on when you want live music, the spaces your venue uses and how much of the reception you want covered.
Live Acoustic Music for the Ceremony and Canapés
A soloist can suit couples who want a simple vocals-and-guitar sound. A duo adds another musician and can create a fuller sound for drinks and the early evening. Listen to both formats and choose the performance style you connect with.
For the ceremony, decide which moments you would like performed live. These may include your entrance, signing and exit. Discuss any special song requests early so the artist can confirm the arrangement and preparation involved.
A DJ for Dinner and the Dancefloor
Dinner music and party music serve different purposes. During the meal, you may want familiar songs at a level that allows conversation. Later, your DJ can build the dancefloor around your musical tastes and the people celebrating with you.
Share a short list of must-play songs, any do-not-plays, and the track you want for your first dance. Confirm whether that first dance will be performed live or played by the DJ, particularly if it falls between the acoustic and reception parts of the booking.
How Our Package Options Fit Together
Our Ceremony & Canapés option covers live acoustic music for the earlier celebration. The Full Day Experience combines acoustic ceremony and drinks music with a reception DJ. The Cocktail & Party DJ option suits couples arranging their ceremony separately who want live music for drinks and a DJ later.
Charter Music Package Options
We will confirm the specific lineup and coverage in your proposal. Tell us if you would like live music during dinner as well, or if your schedule includes a long break between the ceremony and reception.
What to Confirm in Your Proposal
Check the identity of the proposed performers, the number and length of live sets, DJ hours and what plays during breaks. Confirm whether one artist covers both roles or there will be a separate acoustic act and DJ.
The proposal should also set out sound equipment, microphones, lighting where required, setup arrangements and travel. Ask specifically about MC services if you want someone to host formalities. Your wedding coordinator, MC and entertainment team should have the same schedule.
Make the Changeover Part of the Plan
If your guests move from an outdoor drinks area to an indoor reception, allow the musicians and DJ to plan that transition. Equipment may need to be set up in both spaces before guests arrive.
Our wedding music timeline guide can help you decide where the live sets, speeches and DJ session fit. Once your venue confirms the schedule and permitted finish time, we can shape the music around it.
